Jeffrey is a Research Coordinator with Firelight. He has a Masters in Environmental Assessment from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. His research concentrated on the effects of Indigenous counter-mapping processes on large-scale industrial resource development projects in the Canadian environmental assessment process. Jeffrey also holds a Masters of Philosophy in International Peace Studies from Trinity College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. Jeffrey’s thesis focused on the political economy of oil-based conflicts in Niger Delta, Nigeria.
Jeffrey’s professional experience includes participatory mapping, community-based research, and Aboriginal engagement in natural resource management.
Jeffrey works with Firelight’s Traditional Knowledge and Use and Environmental Assessment Support teams. He conducts and provides primary and desktop research and writing, and undertakes community-based field research focusing on traditional knowledge, use, and occupancy, and geomatic technologies.
