Sandra is Metis, born in Vancouver BC, raised in West Kelowna BC, and now resides in Edmonton AB. Since day one, Sandra strongly believes her purpose is to make a difference and seek justice. She envisions herself working in public policy and dispute resolution to better the relationship between Indigenous groups and governments, in an effort to develop more sustainable and equally beneficial policies.

Sandra is a recent BSc Human Ecology graduate from the University of Alberta. With a major in Family Science and a minor in Community Diversity, she studied how social environments impact diverse individuals and families well being. Alongside her degree, Sandra completed a certificate in Community Service-Learning where she developed a strong “working-with” philosophy. She gained hands-on experience in community-based research through a classroom research project that developed a “Best Practice Guide” to tutoring refugee students. She has traveled to India, where she had the opportunity to witness community-based research in an international context.

Sandra is a music lover, sports fan, political activist, and sometimes funny.
